Ahmed Haroon, B.Comm., J.D.
Ahmed Haroon, B.Comm., J.D., is thrilled to be completing his articles under Brian Beresh K.C. at Beresh Law.
Raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Mr. Haroon attended the University of Alberta, earning a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) in 2019. His undergraduate studies were focused on finance, strategic management organization, and psychology. During this time, Mr. Haroon co-founded the first student-run consulting group in Alberta and worked as a research assistant in the neuroscience Fujiwara lab studying associative memory.
In 2024, Mr. Haroon graduated from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. He pursued an intensive curriculum in criminal law, including courses on Wrongful Convictions, Advanced Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence. As a caseworker and dayleader for Student Legal Services, he successfully managed cases in criminal, civil, and family law. His advocacy and negotiation skills allowed him to reach numerous favourable results.
Mr. Haroon also gained practical experience through qualifying for experiential courses. His placement at Legal Aid Alberta allowed him to interview and assist duty counsel clients with speaking to docket court matters in most courtrooms in the Alberta Court of Justice. His efforts in bail planning were often crucial in securing judicial interim release (bail) for clients.
