Kyle J. Best, B.A., LL.B., B.C.L. joined Beresh Law in June of 2021. He is admitted as an Attorney and Counselor-at-Law in New York and is currently completing his articles for admission to the Alberta Law Society.

Mr. Best completed his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in Sociology with a focus on Criminology. During his undergraduate studies he was named to the Dean’s List for three consecutive years. He was awarded the Orange Benevolent Society Scholarship for Community Involvement and the University of Saskatchewan Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

After completing his B.A., Mr. Best attended McGill University Faculty of Law, where he completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L). During his studies, he received the Li Ka-shing Foundation and Tiruchelvam Fund human rights law awards. He also served as Senior Managing Editor on the McGill Journal of Law and Health and was nominated as Chair of the Annual Colloquium on Mental Health and the Criminal Law.

During his studies, Mr. Best worked as an LSAT Instructor with the Princeton Review, helping his fellow students gain admission to law school. He also spent time working with the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Counsel, an NGO dedicated to improving recycling initiatives in the province. An avid cyclist himself, Mr. Best worked with a transportation company after law school, where he helped to establish over 20 comprehensive e-bike systems for public use. He is also an avid volunteer who has dedicated his time to the SPCA, CLASSIC Legal Services, and the Mile End Legal Clinic.

Mr. Best has a diverse background of legal experience. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in May 2020 (membership #5733704). He previously worked in the United States with the One Earth Future Foundation, where he provided research and policy analysis on the issues of maritime crime and piracy. He also gained experience at a private law corporation in the Republic of Singapore, where he assisted counsel in a dispute heard before the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Mr. Best is completing his articles at Beresh Law under Principal Brian A. Beresh Q.C. As an articling student, he is not currently accepting clients of his own. Mr. Best is fluent in both French and English and is happy to communicate in either language.
